A fatal family drama...starring David Loar as King Lear
In the Badlands of North Dakota in 1745, King Lear has decided to kick back and enjoy life by delegating all his territories in Rupert's Land (Hudson's Bay Company) to his daughters. Plans begin to unravel when his third daughter, Cordelia, won't comply with his mercurial prank to test how much his daughters love him. -- Leading a stellar cast of local professionals, David Loar and director/adaptor, Clarence Felder, take the audience on a wild ride of rage, revenge, wit, love, forgiveness and tragic misunderstandings. William Shakespeare's uncanny observations about human behavior are astounding, real and raw in this under two-hour version. Mr. Felder's adaptation is part of a Major Grant from South Carolina Humanities for his series, "Shakespeare for All"
